Harvard Review Of Psychiatry
Founded by the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, the Harvard Review of Psychiatry is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed publication with an international circulation that was established in 1993 to fill the need for an authoritative review journal that is of practical clinical use to the psychiatric practitioner. The editorial board reflects a wide array of expertise in all areas of psychiatry and from the United States and abroad.
The journal examines a wide variety of topics, with emphasis on the integration of research findings and clinical care. Articles cover diagnosis and treatment of a full range of psychiatric disorders, as well as important issues in forensic psychiatry, medical ethics, practice management, psychopharmacology, and neuroscience. The journal is abstracted or indexed by Index Medicus, Medline, Social Sciences Citation Index, Research Alert, and Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Regular sections and features include:- Review articles on topics of current interest to clinicians, including mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, neuroscience, psychosocial aspects of psychiatry, and other topics
- Perspectives articles presenting an overview of an area of interest to clinicians in which there is controversy over diagnosis or treatment
- Brief original reports on research studies relevant to clinical care
- Columns on selected subspecialty areas.
- Challenging cases accompanied by discussion/commentary from experts in the field
