One of the distinctive strengths of the Harvard MGH Med-Peds Program is its location within one of the oldest general hospitals in the country, the Massachusetts General Hospital. The majority of the core rotations take place at MGH, but residents have the opportunity to rotate at community hospitals and to schedule elective rotations at other Boston-area hospitals. Harvard-MGH residents often cite their continuity practices as one of the highlights of residency. Fully integrated med-peds clinics, the community health centers represent an opportunity to develop longitudinal relationships with patients and their families.
The Harvard internal medicine-pediatrics community has a strong tradition of leadership in global health, and residents in our program have many opportunities to learn about global health and rotate in resource-poor clinical settings.
